FISM Academy Project
Promoting Magic as Art and Cultural Heritage
The FISM Academy is an international initiative of FISM, created to merge artistic training, research, and cultural promotion within a single global framework. Conceived by FISM President Andrea Baioni, it aims to strengthen the identity of magic, elevate standards, and promote its recognition as a performing art and a shared cultural heritage.
Headquarters and Global Network
Its official headquarters are hosted at the Museo della Magia in Cherasco, Italy, offering FISM members free access to the library and facilities for meetings and cultural events. Around this centre, the Academy coordinates a global network of hubs and partners, including universities, museums, and cultural institutions, involving FISM World Champions, historians, and curators.
Main Programmes
- Advanced Coaching: Intensive five-day workshops with FISM World Champions, focusing on performance, technique, judging, and creativity.
- University Partnerships: Joint courses and research in management, innovation, and heritage preservation.
- Cultural Initiatives: The FISM Cultural Label, Global Magic Day, and Magic & Culture Archive Project promote the artistic and historical value of magic worldwide.
Strategic Goals
The Academy seeks to reinforce FISM’s global role as a reference for excellence and tradition, support local initiatives within an international framework, and coordinate actions towards the recognition of magic as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
“The best way to predict the future is to design it.”
— Andrea Baioni, FISM International President
