Judges Qualification System JQS 3.0
The Judges Qualification System 3.0 represents a significant evolution from JQS 2.0, moving from a primarily access based framework to a structured and continuously monitored qualification pathway. While JQS 2.0 focused on defining eligibility, numerical allocation by country and initial training requirements, JQS 3.0 introduces a more rigorous and dynamic model centred on competence, accountability and long term engagement.
Key differences include a stricter timelines for progression and requalification, and the introduction of mandatory annual reporting. Under JQS 3.0, judges are required to actively demonstrate ongoing involvement in FISM Qualified Contests and to formally confirm their availability and commitment through an annual questionnaire.
The system therefore shifts from a static certification model to a living framework designed to ensure quality, consistency and generational renewal within the FISM judging body.
JQS 3.0 is conceived as a strategic tool to safeguard the integrity of FISM competitions, enhance transparency and reinforce a culture of continuous professional development among judges, in line with the evolving standards of international magic competitions.
