FISM™ is the International Federation of Magic SOCIETIES™ and therefore all communications from the FISM™ organisations mostly take place with the presidents of the member-societies. They will pass the information to their individual members. For different reasons this passing through of information doesn't work or will only come much later. The result is a (temporary) lack of information by individual magicians. To bridge this information gap and because we all share the same interest and passion for magic but rarely have the opportunity to gather and share our knowledge outside of the FISM™ conventions and championships, a FISM™ newsletter will be introduced. You as an individual Magician can impact on how FISM™ is moving forward if you want to participate in the work we do. Our goal throughout this newsletter is to keep you informed of what's happening within the FISM™ community and to create an environment that allows to share our experiences, desires and objectives. So take action today and get involved with us in the reflexion and development of the magic world!
Since its creation in 1948, FISM™ has worked at uniting and enhancing the magic art worldwide, to defend the interests of magic and magicians. FISM™ is developing just as fast as the outside world. With now 74 clubs from 40 countries worldwide that regroup over 50,000 magicians, FISM™ is still continuously changing. This does not mean we are always right in what we are doing but we believe that by trying new things we will go further to better fulfill our objectives now and in the future. With your participation, feedback and involvement we believe we will improve for the benefit of all.
We hope that you will find the newsletter to be an exciting addition to FISM™ and as always, we look forward to receiving your comments to improve our organisation.

1948 - 2008... next year will be the 60th anniversary of FISM™ and we wish to fully celebrate this event with you. So why not publishing a 60th anniversary book full of pictures and stories from 1948 through 2008. We would like to create a committee to handle these celebrations. So if you have a little bit of time, are passionate about Magic and FISM™, have great ideas, please contact us as soon as possible by email at press@fism.org

FISM™Partners with Hanky-Panky Magic Toys
FISM™ has officially signed a partnership with Hanky-Panky Magic Toys (H-P Magic Toys), the world leading manufacturer of magic toys for children. H-P Magic Toys has been creating magic toys kits since 1961 and can be accredited with creating a love for magic for many famous magicians today. Children are tomorrow's magicians and the partnership will serve FISM™ goals of bringing magic to children and the general public. |

Media Board There are other ways to stay up-to-date with the happenings within FISM™. The Media Board within the FISM™ website or directly accessible at www.fism.info is constantly updated with useful information for all of the Magic Community. News articles, pictures, document files available to download, upcoming events and announcements are all presented on the Media Board. We invite you to explore the Media Board and to use whatever might be of interest.

FISM™ is looking for volunteers to help to bring this newsletter to more magicians around the world. We cannot ask everybody to speak English. So anyone who has the desire to work with us, a little bit of free time and some ability in any other language is welcome. Also if you feel your country is or should be in the forefront of the development of Magic and you want to report these progresses, please contact us today at press@fism.org to become a FISM™ Reporter.
