The Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (International Federation of Magic Societies) -FISM™- is the International body bringing together the world's leading  magic societies.

The Federation was created in 1948 and today consists of 74 clubs, both national and international, as well as national Federations which represent over 50,000 Magicians from 40 countries.

FISM™'s aims are:

• to create a centralised body unifying the magic world

• to be the voice of magic around the world, providing a focal point for communication about magic and magicians

• to develop, elevate and promote the art of magic

• to coordinate the activities of Member Societies, enhancing their authority and encouraging the  exchange of reciprocal cooperation and services;

• to fight against exposure and copies of acts, effects or inventions, presentations or original routines

• to organise international events such as the FISM™ World  Championships of Magic™ (the next one is to be held in July 2009 in Beijing, China) or continental championships such as the FISM™ European Championships of Magic™ with a first edition in Sofia, Bulgaria, in November 2008

With nearly 60 years existence, FISM™ has decided to move a step further. With a new corporate identity and the support of a team of professional marketers, the FISM™ Executive Board has an aggressive plan for the next 6 years to improve its services to its members, its brand recognition, its communication outside the Magic world and the quality of magic worldwide and especially of the FISM™ World Championships of Magic™.
